The river is dry again in ABQ.
Does anyone notice other than the select few?
On Reddit they say, “The river dries up quite often actually”
Only three times in recent history, the reply states factually.
The crisis is here, the crisis now!
Response is needed, but how?
We must work together to find a solution,
we will find a way and make a resolution.
We can’t be divided and claim, “it’s only you, big industry,
or you, new subdivisions, or you, agriculture”.
We are in this together and blame will only inhibit our community culture.
“It’s not our problem to solve, shouldn’t the government be doing this?”
But really, it’s our home, our querencia, our water, our solution that’s needed for this crisis.

The river is crying, the fish are dying, the cottonwoods are thirsty, the cranes dance for rain.
The loss of water in the river does not only cause human pain.
We must act now to protect not only ourselves, but our ecosystem too.
Don’t step back, don’t wait for the future, action is needed, now is your cue.
